Four members of a Fyzabad family, including a 14-year-old boy, were assaulted and robbed in Morvant on Thursday afternoon after being lured by a fake vehicle sale advertised on social media.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at Las Alturas, where the family, aged 14 to 53, had travelled to purchase a silver Nissan Y12 Wingroad. The seller, who claimed to be affiliated with the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, had arranged to meet them there.
While on a call with the supposed seller, the family’s driver noticed a black Nissan Sylphy pull up behind their vehicle. Several suspects exited the Sylphy, and one armed with a firearm approached the driver, announced a robbery, and struck him in the head multiple times with the weapon.
