A planned vehicle purchase via Facebook Marketplace ended in terror for three men from Rio Claro, who were robbed at gunpoint and violently assaulted on Friday afternoon in Barataria.
According to police reports, around 4:30 p.m., the victims were traveling in a silver Nissan AD Wagon along 9th Avenue, Barataria. The trio had arranged to meet a seller claiming to offer a white Nissan Tiida for sale at $30,000.
While following directions provided over a phone call from the purported seller, the victims stopped at the top of a hill on 9th Avenue, as instructed. Moments later, two men armed with firearms approached the vehicle and announced a robbery.
