Essequibo man dies after jumping off truck

(Kaieteur News) – Twenty-three-year-old Arif Shadeek, a porter of Essequibo Coast, Region Two, was on Monday killed in an accident along Tiger Creek Main Access Road, North West District, Region One.

According to the Guyana Police Force, the accident occurred around 07:30 hrs. and involved two trucks. Preliminary investigations revealed that two trucks were travelling in opposite directions.

As the trucks were passing each other around a turn near a cliff, the left wheels of the truck Shadeek was in slipped off the roadway, Shadeek reportedly jumped to avoid falling off the cliff with the truck and landed on the roadway where he sustained severe head injuries.
