Police are investigating two daring burglaries in Siparia and Barrackpore, which led to thousands of dollars in cash, jewellery, and equipment stolen over Thursday night and Friday morning.
In Siparia, staff at Sky Pâtisserie at De Gannes Village arrived Friday morning to find the doors forced open and the premises ransacked. Investigators said approximately $15,000 in cash and a grey Honeywell briefcase containing $3,500 were missing. Officers reported that the point of entry and exit was a small 3x3 ventilation fan on the side of the building.
Siparia Police, including PC Austin and PC Rampersad, arrived at the scene, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed CCTV footage. Crime Scene Investigators processed the site, but no workable fingerprints were recovered.
