Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a se­ries of crimes across South Trinidad, in­clud­ing an armed rob­bery at a New Grant bar­be­cue out­let, a vi­o­lent su­per­mar­ket raid in Bar­rack­pore and a stor­age room lar­ce­ny in Moru­ga.

The own­ers of a New Grant bar­be­cue food out­let were robbed by masked ban­dits dur­ing the ear­ly hours of Sun­day morn­ing.

The vic­tims, ages 35 and 38, told po­lice that around 1.15 am they were in the process of clos­ing up their busi­ness at Cham­pi­on Boys along Na­pari­ma Ma­yaro Road, New Grant, when they were ap­proached by two masked men armed with a firearm and cut­lass. The vic­tims were robbed of $5,000, two cell­phones and jew­ellery. Table­land po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
