Thieves targeted two homes in a housing development in Princes Town on Tuesday, including the residence of a police officer, making off with cash, ammunition and other items.
The 46-year-old police corporal left her home at Fairfield Housing Development around 6:40 am on Tuesday for work. When she returned around 6:50 pm she discovered her home broken into.
Her bedroom was ransacked, and her First Alert Safe containing $40,000 and 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition missing were missing. A jewelry box containing a quantity of gold jewelry and a suitcase were also missing. Police said entry was gained into her home by prying open a door.
