Kaieteur Sports – Backed by months of intense preparation under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), Guyana’s Boys’ Under-14 football team is poised to make a strong impression at the 2026 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-14 Boys’ Challenge Series in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from August 16-25.
On Friday, the local football authority, Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has officially named a 20-player squad for the regional tournament following months of rigorous training aimed at identifying and developing the country’s brightest young football prospects.
The squad was selected through the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, a long-term initiative that forms part of FIFA’s global strategy to ensure every talented player has access to a structured pathway for elite football development. Throughout the programme, players underwent intensive technical, tactical and physical training, sharpening their skills ahead of regional competition.
