President Christine Kangaloo says while there are challenges, she does not believe the absence of an opposition in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) poses a high risk, as civil society has assured there will be accountability.
The President yesterday addressed the Assembly following the swearing-in ceremony of Tobago People’s Party (TPP) leader Farley Augustine and members of the THA at the Assembly’s Legislature Building in Scarborough.
Specially invited guests included Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh, Senate President Wade Mark and Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles.
