Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has congratulated Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and the Tobago People’s Party (TPP) following their decisive victory in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections, describing the outcome as historic.

In a statement issued overnight, the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, praised the TPP for securing all 15 seats in the Assembly, resulting in a clean sweep across the island.

She also commended the people of Tobago for the peaceful conduct of the electoral process and said the result reflected a strong mandate and clear confidence in the leadership and vision presented by Augustine and his party.
