Will the Stand Your Ground law act as a legal defence if an unauthorised user kills an intruder with a legal firearm in the house during a home invasion?
The question was posed to Legal Affairs Minister Saddam Hosein on Tuesday night, by public relations officer of the Prison Officers Association, Sean Ramnarine, at the first public consultation of proposed Stand Your Ground legislation at the Barataria Community Centre.
Ramnarine described a scenario in which an armed intruder breaks into his home while he is in the kitchen and is the first to be held by the intruders.
