(Kaieteur News) – Roy Andrew, 31, a teacher of Hiawa Village, Central Rupununi, Region Nine was sentenced to two years imprisonment and fined $100,000 for possession of a firearm without a licence and possession of ammunition without a licence.
Andrew was arrested on February 2, 2025, at Hiawa Village, Central Rupununi, and subsequently charged with the offences.
The accused appeared at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, before Magistrate Nikkisha Logan, when he plead guilty. Andrew was sentenced and fined $50,000 on each offence.
