(Kaieteur News) – A former police special constable, Errol De Florimonte,43 was jailed on Wednesday after pleading guilty to having an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in his possession.
He was reportedly caught with the weapon on 10th February, 2026 at Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
On Wednesday he appeared before Senior Magistrate Dylon Bess at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court where both charges were read to him. He pleaded guilty to both offences. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment for possession of a firearm without a licence and one year imprisonment for possession of ammunition without a license. The sentences will run concurrently.
