Hours after attempting to rob occupants of a Valsayn home on Monday, one man was shot dead by police while three others were apprehended, including a 14-year-old boy. The fourth suspect remains at large.
According to police reports, around 12:59 p.m., three people over the age of 60 were inside a residence on Valsayn Avenue when four males, including the teen, jumped over a wall and entered the home armed with firearms. One of the victims reportedly screamed during the intrusion, prompting the suspects to flee over another wall.
Police from the North Central Division Task Force responded promptly after receiving a description of the suspects. Officers captured two suspects: a 22-year-old man from Eastern Quarry, East Port of Spain, and the 14-year-old from Farm Road, St. Joseph.
