A 53-year-old Diego Martin woman has reported being the victim of a larceny trick after attempting to purchase a vehicle advertised on Facebook Marketplace.
Police said the victim made arrangements with a man identifying himself as “George,” who advertised a silver Toyota Corolla, valued at $69,000, under a work-to-own agreement.
According to police, around 6:25 p.m. on Monday, the woman paid a down payment of $9,000 via online transfer to a Republic Bank account.
