Police are investigating a larceny trick after a San Juan woman was conned out of $7,000 in an online vehicle sale.
According to police reports, around 10 a.m. on Tuesday the woman saw an advertisement on Facebook Marketplace for a white Nissan Tiida listed for $47,000. She contacted the seller and arrangements were made for her to pay a $7,000 down-payment.
The woman went to Republic Bank in San Juan around 1:15 p.m. on December 3 and deposited the money into an active account under a particular name.
