Ten peo­ple have been de­tained un­der Pre­ven­tive De­ten­tion Or­ders (PDOs), with the or­ders al­leg­ing links to or­gan­ised crime groups in­volved in firearms of­fences, ex­tor­tion, vi­o­lent rob­beries, hu­man traf­fick­ing and planned at­tacks.

The de­ten­tion or­ders, is­sued by Min­is­ter of Home­land Se­cu­ri­ty Roger Alexan­der be­tween Ju­ly 17 and Ju­ly 23 un­der the Emer­gency Pow­ers Reg­u­la­tions, 2026, name al­leged gang lead­ers, en­forcers, shoot­ers and fa­cil­i­ta­tors across Trinidad and To­ba­go.

The most re­cent or­ders tar­get in­di­vid­u­als al­leged­ly linked to crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty in To­ba­go, Lopinot, Clax­ton Bay, Pe­nal, John John, Mara­bel­la and Gon­za­les Vil­lage.
