Ten individuals, eight men and two women, have been detained under Preventative Detention Orders (PDOs).
The Minister of Homeland Security, Roger Alexander, issued the orders between March 19 and June 5, authorising detention at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Centre in Santa Rosa, Arima; the Women’s Prison at Golden Grove or other designated facilities.
The women named in the orders are Anika Chadee of Piparo and Akeema Ferguson of Longdenville/Edinburgh 500. Both were detained on allegations linked to organised crime groups, including possession of firearms and involvement in facilitating or supporting planned armed activity, according to the detention orders.
