The ceremonial opening of Parliament is sche­­duled for May 23, 2025.

President Christine Kangaloo will issue the proclamation announ­cing the location, date, and time of the ceremonial opening, which will take place just under a month after the general election on April 28.

This ceremonial open­ing will be historic, as for the first time in Trinidad and Tobago’s history, the country will have a female President, Prime Minister and Opposition Leader serving simultaneously in leader­ship roles. All three are expected to deliver speeches.
