The ceremonial opening of Parliament is scheduled for May 23, 2025.
President Christine Kangaloo will issue the proclamation announcing the location, date, and time of the ceremonial opening, which will take place just under a month after the general election on April 28.
This ceremonial opening will be historic, as for the first time in Trinidad and Tobago’s history, the country will have a female President, Prime Minister and Opposition Leader serving simultaneously in leadership roles. All three are expected to deliver speeches.
