It is one day before the State opening of the 13th Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago and there has been no public announcement about who will be the presiding officers in the House of Representatives and the Senate or the new senators—Opposition, Government and Independent.
The First Session of the 13th Republican Parliament will commence tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. with a ceremonial opening at the Red House.
This is normally the creme de la creme of ceremonial openings. It is when all Members of Parliament take their oath. But before this is done the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate are required to be elected.
