A 34-year-old prison officer was robbed and injured in St Augustine early Friday morning, during an attack in which his service firearm was taken.
Police reported that around 12.15 a.m. on October 3, the officer, who resides at Carmody Street, St Augustine, was walking along St Augustine Circular when a silver Nissan AD Wagon with three occupants stopped alongside him.
Two men exited the vehicle. One was armed with a firearm and the other with a knife. They confronted the officer, demanding his possessions. During a struggle, the officer was struck in the face with the firearm and stabbed in the back.
