Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher’s return to the leadership helm of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) remains in limbo, as she cannot resume duties until official letters are dispatched by the Police Service Commission (PolSC).
Acting Police Commissioner Junior Benjamin told the Express last night, “We must wait for the P(ol) SC to inform us as to what is the next course of action. So far, I’m still Ag CoP”.
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Roger Gaspard on Saturday indicated that there was insufficient evidence to secure any criminal conviction against Harewood-Christopher with respect to a criminal investigation into her role in authorising the importation of two high-powered sniper rifles for the Strategic Services Agency (SSA).
