Sixty days after she was arrested and interrogated for two days, suspended Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher is yet to be charged with any crime.
The investigative team looking into the alleged role that Harewood-Christopher played in the importation of two sniper rifles, which were later sent to the Strategic Services Agency in late 2023, is currently awaiting advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on what charges, if any, could be brought against her.
During news conference held at the police administration building on Edward Street in Port of Spain last week, acting Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin confirmed that the investigative team, headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin, has once again submitted the relevant case-files to the DPP Roger Gaspard SC.
