Thirty-three-year-old Godwell Payne, a gold gold miner of South Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was on Tuesday remanded to prison on an unlawful wounding charge.
Payne was arrested on Sunday last in relation to an alleged unlawful wounding and was subsequently charged with the crime.
He appeared before Magistrate Caressa Henry at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge. As such, he was remanded to prison until October 7, 2026.
