(Kaieteur News) – Anthony Fredericks, a 28-year-old gold miner/fisherman of Agatash Village, Essequibo River, has been charged with Felonious Wounding and Unlawful Wounding following an incident involving two other village residents.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Agatash Village, Essequibo River, involving a 19-year-old gold miner and a 57-year-old housewife, both also of the village.
Fredericks was arrested on August 10 and formally charged on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The Felonious Wounding charge was laid under Section 57(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, while the Unlawful Wounding charge was laid under Section 50 of the same Act.
