A DEFENCE FORCE soldier was in critical condition at hospital tonight after he was shot by an off-duty police officer while the soldier was visiting the officer’s ex-girlfriend who is the mother of his child in Santa Cruz.

The soldier was identified as, Emilio Constant while the officer who is part of the Guard and Emergency Branch was taken into custody and his firearm seized.

Details were sketchy up to last night but according to senior police sources the incident occurred in Bourg Mulatresse at around 5pm on Sunday..
