A 22-year-old labourer was shot during a police raid at his Las Lomas home on Thursday morning, after allegedly attacking a member of the Defence Force.
Around 4:45 a.m. officers of the National Special Operations Unit (NSOU), supported by Defence Force Special Forces, executed a firearm search warrant at a house at Chin Chin Road.
According to police, the suspect became hostile and grabbed at a soldier’s firearm during the search, prompting a struggle. One officer, fearing for his colleague’s safety, discharged a single round, striking the suspect in the upper thigh.
