US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the US has successfully carried out a “large scale” strike against Venezuela, capturing its President Nicolas Maduro and his wife in the early hours of Saturday morning as reports of explosions swept throughout Caracas overnight.
Trump described the effort as one done in conjunction with US law enforcement, adding that Maduro and his wife had been flown out, though he offered few details on the location of the socialist leader.
In a phone call with Venezuelan media this morning Vice President Delcy Rodriguez confirmed that she did not know where Maduro was located, adding that the City in which the ‘Venezuelan liberator ‘had been born was under attack. She called for a proof of life to be sent to the Venezuelan people.
