A 21-year-old clerk attached to the Anna Regina Town Council has been fined after pleading guilty to refusing to provide a breath specimen for a breath alcohol test.
Aryan Doodnauth, of Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), reappeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on July 9, 2026, to answer the charge.
The charge alleged that on June 21, 2026, at the Anna Regina Public Road, Essequibo Coast, Doodnauth refused to provide a breath specimen for a breath alcohol test, contrary to Section 39B (5) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02. Doodnauth pleaded guilty to the offence and was fined $25,000. In default of payment, he will have to serve three months’ imprisonment.
