Bath mechanic dies after car topples into trench with girlfriend

(Kaieteur News) – A West Coast Berbice mother is grieving the loss of her only son who perished in a Sunday evening vehicular incident on the No. 6 Village Public Road, West Coast Berbice.

Twenty-one-year-old Afridi Rahaman, of Lot 39 Bath Plantation, West Coast Berbice, died after reportedly losing control of the vehicle he was driving. According to police reports, the incident occurred at 8:20 on Sunday night.

At the time of the incident, Rahaman was behind the wheel of motor car #PAB 8323, owned by Jamaladeen Rahaman. His girlfriend, 19-year-old Parveena Brijemal, of East Canje, Berbice, was in the car with him in the front passenger seat.
