Police are investigating a home invasion in Woodford Gardens, Chaguanas, after a man was assaulted inside his apartment in the early hours of Monday.
According to reports, around 3:50 a.m., a 25-year-old sales specialist at Royal Bank was awoken by a flashing light inside his upstairs apartment on Oak Avenue. He reportedly saw a man armed with a cutlass. In a struggle, the victim was struck on the top of his head, sustaining serious injuries. The suspect then fled through a window.
The assailant is described as a male of African descent, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, dark-skinned, of medium build, wearing a black T-shirt and cargo shorts, and armed with a cutlass.
