(Kaieteur News) – The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is urging consumers to be more vigilant about the quality of electricity, telecommunications and water and sewerage services they receive, while ensuring that complaints are properly documented and first reported to service providers.
The call came during a consumer awareness session conducted by the Commission with teachers of Brickdam Secondary School on September 9, as part of its ongoing public education programme.
According to the PUC, the engagement focused on “strengthening consumers’ understanding of the role of the Commission” in regulating the three major utility sectors, as well as informing consumers of the avenues available when they encounter problems with services provided.
