(Kaieteur News) – Last week the Public Utilities Commission called on Guyanese consumers to be more vigilant about the quality of electricity, telecommunications, water and sewerage services they receive. It was an important reminder that consumers have rights and that they should not simply accept poor service as an unavoidable part of daily life.
But there is an important question that the PUC’s latest intervention raises: what happens after consumers complain?
