(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Inc. is rushing to install new lines to supply key areas with reliable electricity as the demand for power continues to grow beyond the capacity of the installed infrastructure.
In the interim, government is appealing to consumers to employ energy-saving techniques to help maintain a stable distribution of power.
During a media conference on Friday at the Office of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation, Deodat Indar laid out a long list of troubles the agency must address to ensure stable power is distributed across the Demerara Berbice Interconnected System (DBIS).
