T&TEC Incident Update: Adverse Weather Causes Disruptions

At approximately 8:21am, there was a fault experienced at the Ojoe Rd 12kV feeder out of the Sangre Grande Sub Station. At the time, the area was experiencing heavy wind gusts and torrential rainfall.

Subsequent checks revealed a fallen communication cell tower, which resulted in downed power lines in the vicinity of Graham and Katwaroo Trace, just off Ojoe Road in Sangre Grande. Additionally, a large tree became uprooted, eventually falling onto power lines at another location along Ojoe Road. Supply was restored to customers up to Adventist Street and Katwaroo Trace.

Additional resources are currently assigned to help expedite the remaining restoration works. Pending further assessment, an estimated time for full restoration is 6 p.m.
