The Office of the Attorney General has moved to dispel what it described as misinformation circulating on social media, clarifying that the State of Emergency (SOE) remains in force until midnight on June 17, 2026.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the office said claims suggesting the SOE expires today, June 3, were inaccurate and did not reflect the constitutional provisions governing the emergency measures.
"The Office of the Attorney General seeks to clarify misinformation currently circulating on certain social media platforms regarding the duration of the ongoing State of Public Emergency," the statement said.
