The Government will seek parliamentary approval this week to extend the current state of emergency (SoE) for a further three months.
The announcement was made on Sunday by the Office of the Attorney General, which said Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar took the decision following a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) on Friday evening.
