The Of­fice of the At­tor­ney Gen­er­al has sought to cor­rect what it de­scribed as mis­in­for­ma­tion cir­cu­lat­ing on so­cial me­dia about the du­ra­tion of the cur­rent State of Pub­lic Emer­gency (SOE).

In a state­ment, the of­fice said the SOE re­mains in ef­fect un­til mid­night on June 17, 2026, and not June 3, 2026, as some so­cial me­dia posts have claimed.

The At­tor­ney Gen­er­al’s Of­fice out­lined the con­sti­tu­tion­al process gov­ern­ing the emer­gency mea­sures and ex­plained that the SOE was first de­clared by the Pres­i­dent through Le­gal No­tice No. 39 of 2026 with ef­fect from March 3, 2026.
