$218M contract awarded to build daycare centre for prison officers’ children

(Kaieteur News) – The National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) has awarded a $218 million contract for the construction of a Daycare Centre in Region Four for children of Guyana Prison Service officers.
According to NPTAB, the Ministry of Home Affairs project was awarded to K&S General Contractors Inc. who was among 35 contractors that submitted bids for the project in July. The ministry’s engineer had estimated that the project will cost $241,247,060.
The daycare centre forms part of the ongoing efforts to enhance welfare services within the security sectors. The facility is expected to be constructed at Parade Street, Kingston.
