Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has promised to dismantle what she yesterday described as a pharmaceutical monopoly operating in the country.
She also slammed Government agencies for failing to act on the issue.
She said the excuses offered by these bodies were “nonsense” and “shameful”, and pledged to break the cycle and introduce competition in the market to reduce drug prices for citizens.
