HEALTH MINISTER Dr Lackram Bodoe says he plans to seeks answers as to why despite $800 to $900 million being spent on pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals a year, there are still complaints of unavailability of medication to the public.
He also said yesterday that he will take a look at the National Insurance Property Development Company (NIPDEC) and whether it remains feasible as the chief procurer of medication for the nation’s hospitals and health centres.
Bodoe and Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander were speakers on a presentation hosted by Caricom IMPACS, which in collaboration with Small Arms Survey, Carpha and the George Alleyne Chronic Disease Research Centre, hosted the launch of the Pathway to Policy Research Publication 2025 at the Ministry of Health in Port of Spain.
