Less than a day after she defiantly pushed back against the United States’ military intervention in Venezuela that saw its president, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife captured, US President Donald Trump warned Venezuelan acting President Delcy Rodriguez she could face a worse fate.
The Atlantic Magazine yesterday reported that Trump, in an interview from his West Palm Beach Golf Club, said he would not stand for Rodríguez’s resistance to US actions in the South American country, stating, “If she doesn’t do what’s right, she is going to pay a very big price, probably bigger than Maduro.”
Just hours after his capture was confirmed by Trump on Saturday, Rodriguez decried the US extraction operation, stating that the “mask” had fallen and that the “empire” was after Venezuela’s oil wealth.
