Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has pushed back at Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, calling her previous statements urging the US to kill all drug traffickers violently, a “self-fulfilling prophecy,” after news emerged that two Trinidadians believed to be fishermen were allegedly among those killed in the latest US boat strike off Venezuela’s coast.
“‘The US Army should kill them all.’ A self-fulfilling prophecy from the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad, when she applauded the US warlike plan against Venezuela,” Rodriguez wrote in a post to her Telegram on Thursday.
In early September, when the US first struck a vessel in Caribbean waters killing 11 allegedly originating from Venezuela’s Sucre State, Persad-Bissessar had lauded the US’ purported effort to curb drug trafficking in the region.
