The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) and the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation on telecommunications policy and regulation.
The agreement was signed on June 18, 2026, and is intended to strengthen the relationship between the two regulators and increase engagement on regulatory policy.
According to TATT, the MoU establishes a non-binding framework for the exchange of ideas and information on telecommunications regulatory policy. The initiative recognises the role both organisations play in promoting telecommunications development, competitive markets, technological innovation and efforts to bridge the digital divide in their respective countries.
