(Kaieteur News) – Opposition Leader, Azruddin Mohamed, on Thursday turned to the high court seeking urgent bail after being remanded to prison on cybercrime and obstruction charges, with his legal team challenging Magistrate Abigail Gibbs’ decision to deny him bail.
The application was brought by his mother, Bonita Mohamed and was heard by Justice Priscilla Chandra-Haniff.

The charges against Mohamed stem from an October 12 incident outside the Kitty residence of Senior Superintendent of Police Prem Narine, where gunshots were fired and Mohamed’s vehicle was intercepted by police.
