An elderly couple was tied up and robbed at their Orchid Gardens home late Saturday night by three armed intruders who made off with cash, electronics, jewelry, and the couple’s vehicle.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. as a 72-year-old man was about to enter his garage at Orchid Gardens. He was accosted by three men, one of whom pointed a firearm at him and announced a robbery. He was forced inside the house where his 61-year-old wife was located.
The couple’s hands and feet were bound with string as the suspects ransacked the house. They stole a cellphone at $600 and $250 in cash. Also taken were an iPhone 13 valued at US$1,000, TT$2,500 in cash, a black HP laptop, an IBM ThinkPad, a 42-inch Samsung television, and an undisclosed quantity of jewelry.
