Within the past few months a number of rural Carnival committees throughout Trinidad have been disbanded and their members replaced by new boards allegedly appointed by political representatives.
The Express was told that the changes were thrust upon Committees that have long served the outskirt communities such as Mayaro, Cedros and Princes Town, where Carnival celebrations have over the past four years sprouted larger crowds, and in some cases more festivities.
