(Kaieteur News) – The $52 billion Craig to Land of Canaan four-lane highway project on the East Bank of Demerara is approximately 50 percent complete, with the Ministry of Housing targeting the first quarter of 2027 for completion of the road works.
The ministry provided an update on the project on Wednesday, following an inspection on Tuesday by Minister of Housing Collin Croal, Deputy Director of Projects Intakab Indarjeet and senior engineers.
The highway is being constructed in eight lots and is intended to provide a major alternative route for commuters travelling along the East Bank corridor and in and out of Georgetown.
