A total of 10 persons remain in custody and 43 firearms and over 900 rounds of ammunition have been recovered in the ongoing investigation into the theft of weapons from the San Fernando Municipal Police Station on Sunday 19th April 2026.
In an amended statement, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said the recovery figure covers a series of coordinated operations conducted between Sunday 19th and Tuesday 21st April 2026.
During one operation in the Claxton Bay district, officers of the Highway Patrol South Operations Team intercepted a white Kia K2700 with three male occupants. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 13 firearms, 12 magazines, 288 rounds of 9mm ammunition and ten 12-gauge cartridges. The three men were arrested.
