AK-47 with filed-off serial number found stashed in Sophia empty lot

(Kaieteur News) – Police are investigating the discovery of another AK-47 rifle, this time found hidden in an empty lot at ‘C’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the weapon was discovered around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday along with two magazines.
Police said the rifle’s serial number had been filed off. The weapon and magazines were found inside a bag that was located in a nearby dry drain.
