Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Barry Padarath has described former prime minister Dr Keith Rowley as “despicable” for referring to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar as a “jamette” during a news conference at his Glencoe home on Tuesday.
Rowley made that comment in response to allegations made by the prime minister in Parliament on Friday that the People’s National Movement built its party headquarters, Balisier House at Tranquillity Street, Port of Spain, with money from narco-traffickers. She also accused the party of being connected to paedophiles.
“If (Persad-Bissessar) can’t come in front of me and show me an iota of evidence to support that allegation, I say again that we are unfortunate to have a jamette as the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago," he said.
